Short bio
Amit received a dual BS in Physics and Materials engineering in 2012, a MS in Physics in 2014 and PhD in Physics in 2018, all from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
During his MS and PhD in the group of Prof. Kanigel, Amit used Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) to study the exotic electronic properties of low dimensional materials such as topological insulators, topological superconductors and transition-metal dichalcogendies.
In addition to ARPES, he performed transport and magnetization measurements, as well as muon-spin relaxation (muSR) experiments.
Amit joined Andrea’s group as a postdoc in March 2019. He is interested in investigating light-induced superconductivity using ultrafast techniques in the presence of external magnetic fields.
